Hi everyone,
As some of you may know my mom has had quite the battle with her health since 2011. She beat stage 3 brain cancer in 2012 and the tumor that was in her brain was replaced with a shunt, however in the last 2 years or so that shunt disconnected and her health has been declining since; memory loss, mobility issues, chronic pain. Her health has declined so much to the point where I had to move her into an assisted living facility at just 54. She is going to need shunt replacement surgery, we recently met with a wonderful neurosurgeon that said we can get this procedure done as early as this coming weekend. Obviously being her only kid I’ve carried a lot of the health related responsibilities alongside my aunt. This procedure will likely cost a lot more than 10k even with insurance but at this point anything helps. I work just about 7 days a week in childcare and nightlife to support her and myself. My mom’s quality of life should improve significantly once this procedure is done and that would be a huge relief for myself and the rest of my family as well. I appreciate anyone taking time out of their day to read and donate. Thank you!
Update: hello all!!!!! my mom’s procedure went successfully just this last Saturday 7/20/24. thank you everyone that shared and donated and thank you Dr. Mesiwala and team of nurses that helped my mom at San Antonio Regional Hospital in Ontario. I plan to keep this GFM open until the end of this month. these funds will be used to pay off a chunk of the payment plan we have set up and resources with my mom’s recovery which should take about a month or so. I cannot believe we raised over half the goal in just a few days. my family and I are eternally grateful for everyone’s support, words truly cannot describe!!! thank you thank you thank you!!!
