Help Kay Kick Cancer

Hello family and friends.  My name is Cyndi Lucas, and I am creating this fundraiser for my beautiful daughter Kara Calvin, otherwise known as 'Kay' to her friends and associates.  A trained pastry chef who still enjoys 'spreading love through pie,' she is now a busy beer sales rep and special events coordinator for 'Second Pitch, a popular local brewery. 

Kay loves her work and the people she has met throughout the years whom she calls her "beer family." She loves her brewery so much she even spends a little extra time taking care of the flowers out front!  

 

In early November of this year, Kay was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer.  The following weeks became a whirlwind of appointments with more tests, specialists, and treatment planning.  

The results are in and what comes next will be a long and challenging journey for Kay, emotionally, physically, and financially. The medical bills have already started to rise.  The first of many treatments begin on December 27th when a chemotherapy port will be inserted.

 

Kay's current treatment plan consists of several rounds of chemotherapy followed by mastectomy.  After the surgery, radiation therapy and later reconstruction is the plan; however, this is subject to change based on many factors, including Kay's health at that time.

 

So I am reaching out to friends and family to ask for help.  All donations, no matter the amount, will help offset the high cost of treatment, recovery, and loss of wages.  If unable to donate, we would appreciate it if you could pass along the link to this fundraiser because sharing it around is very helpful too!
