Kawsu Kijera is a 38-year-old man from Brikama West Cost region in The Gambia who has been battling Lymphoma (blood cancer) for two years. Mistaken for different infections for many years in various hospitals in the Gambia, Kawsu had a breakthrough laboratory result for Cancer two months ago as his condition worsened. After a series of laboratory examinations by MRC, Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital formally (RVTH) and West African holistic Medical Centre Lymphoma cancer overseas treatment is recommended for Kawsu. Kawsu has been given hope by Fortis Hospital Limited in Gurgaon, Haryana in, India. Kawsu needs to undergo chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment for $11,700.00 or £9,600.00, including aftercare costs. The treatment is expected to last 3-4 months in India.
Kind-hearted Kawsu is the breadwinner of his family and is married with three children and three adopted children. All six children under his care are in primary and Secondary education.
Kawsu was a civil servant who stopped working in 2021 as his health deteriorated due to cancer.
