Hi I am a mother of four who has recently been retaliated against and terminated after reporting my boss and coworker for sexual misconduct and theft. Both men were discharged, and although my employer promised help me, the fired me when I refused to terminate myself. I have been bullied in the past! I came to Missouri looking for a life free of abuse and mistreatment, from a spouse or employer!
Despite these challenges, I have done everything possible to keep my children safe and cared for. I had to leave my studies in diagnostic medical sonography, despite earning my radiography certification, and took on any job I could find—changing adult diapers at a rehab center, working long hours at a distribution center—just to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. My 21-year-old daughter had to leave college and go to work because of a paperwork error that cost her an important scholarship, leaving us with a significant bill and uncertainty about her future. On top of this, I am in urgent need of a reliable car with heat and air conditioning. Our Ameren bill and mortgage are weighing heavily on me, and I am searching for stable employment as an X-ray technician—a field I am trained and certified in, but have limited experience due to prioritizing my children’s needs.
I have always tried to do the right thing and never wanted to ask for help, but I am at a point where I need a hand up. I will never go back to a terrible relationship for support. Instead, I am reaching out to strangers, trusting in the kindness of others and in God. Anything you can contribute—whether it’s financial support or job leads—would mean the world to us. Thank you for reading our story, and may your own unspoken needs be met as well.
Funds will be used for housing, grocery, transportation, MACC past due tuition due to A Plus Scholarship not be applied, and to cover arm surgery.
Any help is appreciated. Please help us move forward.
