Help Katy Rebuild After Tragic Loss

Hi, my name is Theresa. I am starting this GoFundMe for my friend Katy Hydo Queen. I met Katy 20 years ago in an online “mommy group,” and we have been friends ever since. Katy is a recently divorced mother of six receiving little to no support.

In the beginning of December 2024, Katy met a wonderful man who was the literal “love of her life,” Matthew. Matthew and Katy had instant chemistry and began building and planning a life together with one another and Katy’s three youngest children. Katy and Matthew decided to take the plunge and live together in Matthew’s beautiful home, which is over an hour away from Katy’s 20-year marital home. Katy was in the process of officially moving herself and her children to Matthew's home over the last few weeks (though she and the kids had been spending the majority of their time with and at Matthew’s). Everything was going as smoothly as it possibly could. I was elated to see Katy’s daily posts on social media because she and her kids were so happy and relaxed at Matthew’s, and he seemed so smitten with them. I was excited to see my friend finally in a healthy relationship that she and her children deserved.

Then suddenly, everything changed on Thursday, April 4, 2025. Matthew passed away unexpectedly and suddenly, leaving Katy heartbroken and unsure of her path going forward. She and Matthew were in the midst of financially planning for their future when he passed. Now, Katy and her three youngest children are living in a hotel room. Katy has very little funds for living, her car, or anything else at this point. I thought she could use a little help getting herself and her babies back on their feet again.
