Katy is currently experiencing homelessness after having to leave her last living situation due to unpaid rent. Right now, she is couch surfing while working to rebuild stability.  In the middle of all of this Katy’s birthday is Saturday April 18th. She has said she’s not a big birthday person, although it would be great not to be struggling so much on her birthday.

For years, Katy gave her time, energy, and finances to support her family, including helping maintain an aging home and managing ongoing family needs. In the process, she fell deep into debt and is now facing serious financial hardship.

She is currently behind on car payments and storage fees. The storage units holding her childhood belongings — including meaningful items from her late father — are now overlocked and at risk of being auctioned if the balance is not paid.

Any support will go directly toward urgent basic needs, including:

• past-due car payments

• past-due rent and housing costs

• food and gas

• overdue medical bills

• tools and support needed to secure adequate employment

• reopening the storage units to recover important family keepsakes
