Help Katy pay for Parathyroid surgery

My name is Katy and I am a 27 year old, autistic, disabled queer person.

 

For over 15 years of my 27 year life, I have victim of undiagnosed chronic illness that has cost me my job, my mobility, and my quality of life. I experience extreme fatigue that has rendered me all but entirely bedridden and housebound along with digestive issues, chronic headaches, nausea, muscle weakness, and a host of other symptoms that would take paragraphs to list in their full detail.

 

In 2017, my condition took a turn for the worst, leaving me barely able to function and I've continued to deteriorate since. After a four year, nearly non-stop fight with the medical system to find a diagnosis and a doctor willing to treat me, I finally have a surgery scheduled to remove my faulty parathyroid glands on Jan 13th of 2022. Unfortunately, the doctor is not covered by my insurance and I have to pay for it out of pocket.

 

My father has agreed to cover half of the final cost of the surgery, my mother the other. As they have been supporting me for years through my illness I want to contribute whatever I can to prevent them from having to go into debt to support my health. Since this disease has made it impossible to gain or hold employment, I have little way of making up these funds outside of asking for help from outside sources.

 

I've lost years of my life to this illness and, if it's not treated, it will eventually cause my kidneys to fail, costing me the rest of my years as well.

I have been a captive of this illness so long I don't know what my life would be without it. I beg anyone who is able to give what they can to give me a chance to find out.
