If you’ve ever met Katy Mae, you know her smile arrives before she does. At just 18 years old, she has already faced more medical challenges than most people will in a lifetime—yet she carries herself with the heart of a lioness, brave, steady, and full of light. Katy Mae was born with Spina Bifida and Cloacal Exstrophy, two rare and complex conditions that have required ongoing, intensive medical care since the day she entered this world. Her journey has included countless hospital stays, procedures, and moments of uncertainty. Now, she is preparing for surgery number 25, a major operation at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, one of the few places equipped to handle the level of specialized care she needs. This surgery is essential for her long-term health and quality of life—but the financial burden is overwhelming. Travel, lodging, meals, medical expenses not fully covered by insurance, and the extended recovery period all add up quickly. Katy and her mom are looking at a 6-8 week stay in the Baltimore area. Her family has always done everything possible to support her, but this time, they need help.

Katy Mae has never stopped fighting. She has never stopped smiling. She has never stopped believing in better days. And now, we’re asking our community—friends, family, neighbors, and kind-hearted strangers—to help lift some of the weight she carries. Every donation, no matter the size, brings her one step closer to healing and relief. If you’re unable to give, sharing her story means more than you know. Thank you for standing with Katy Mae. Thank you for believing in her strength. And thank you for helping this incredible young woman continue her journey with the courage and grace she shows every single day. She is a lioness. She is a fighter. And with your help, she will rise again.
