My wife Katty was followed from the bank and robbed at gunpoint outside our home in Cancún.
She was carrying $10,000 in cash to buy our first car, a purchase that would have made her daily commute to work much safer. Instead, she was attacked and struck multiple times with a pistol, leaving her with heavy bruising on her back. Thankfully, Katty is recovering physically, but the emotional impact and the loss of our savings have been overwhelming.
We had saved to buy a car so Katty could travel to work safely each day. Public transportation and ride shares in Mexico can be risky — especially for a young lady — and having our own car was going to give us peace of mind.
Any support would be used to help us buy a used car. We do not expect to recover the 10k we lost, but any amount that would help us purchase a vehicle would be a godsend at this time.
