Hello, my name is Katie and I never thought I would have to do something like this, but here I am.

Last night, we came home to find our smoke detector alarming and smoke in our house. After further inspection, my husband found that our furnace was smoking and shut it off. We called the fire department, who cleared out the smoke, and had an HVAC expert come out to inspect the furnace immediately. Upon inspection, he informed us that it would be very difficult to fix the furnace in its condition and that we would be better off getting a new furnace/clean energy heater installed. He quoted us $10,000-$13,000.

We have a young daughter and times have been really tough for our little family. We unfortunately cannot afford to purchase a new furnace and we live in Maine where winter temperatures have already started. We do not have anyone we can borrow from and have exhausted all other avenues, hence why I’m here now. I never ever expected to have to ask people to help me and my family and to be in this situation, but I would do anything for my daughter. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated.
