My name is Katie, and I am a senior year student in the Human Development and Family Science program at CSUMB, with a minor in Environmental Science. I am seeking to complete my Bachelors of Science and pursue an Ed.S in School Psychology, or an M.S. in Instructional Science Technology.

On January 28th, 2025, President Donald Trump placed a pause on all federally-funded grants, which includes all academic grants and federally-funded scholarships. I rely on these grants and scholarships that I earned to pay for my education, as well as providing 50% of my family's income. Included in this pause was the federal grant that funded my last job, and the grant that funded the job I was supposed to start, which is now rescinded, as they no longer have funding to hire me.

I have accepted a new research position with guaranteed funding, but it does not start until June. I need help covering my usual family contribution that would normally be covered by my paycheck. My current goal is $1,400, which is 1 month's salary at my previous position. Until the month of June, we also will not be receiving food stamps, due to my work requirement stay ending as of May 1st. The majority of this will be going to groceries.
