Help Katie with terminal brain cancer

7/25/23 Update
With deep sadness and a heavy heart I share this update.

Katie did not respond to the new chemo. She slipped into a coma and passed today with loved ones by her side.

Thank you all for your support, prayers and donations. She felt the love.

7/15/23 Update
Katie was given a new IV chemo this week. She will have a second dose in 4 weeks and a scan to confirm if there is any response to this new treatment.

Although communication continues to be a challenge as her hearing is almost gone, vision continues to decline, inability to speak due to the trach, Katie is still able to comprehend written messages and point to letters to produce words. As of now, she has no mobility other than her right arm.

She continues to express gratitude for your continued support, love, and donations. Supportive wishes and donations have helped tremendously and have given her peace of mind.

I think I share everyone’s sentiment that this continues to be a shock, and we are all saddened to see the impact of this aggressive cancer. Yet, we remain hopeful. We love you Katie!

Thank you all for checking back on Katie’s status, sharing her story, and for your thoughtfulness, prayers, and generous donations.

July 5, 2023 Update
Katie will hopefully start a new chemo treatment next week depending on her strength. Her symptoms have gotten worse. She has double vision, hearing is going and limbs are weak, numb and not working.

She has been in the hospital for 2 months now, but continues to be hopeful. She is fully alert and aware of the gofundme that has been set up and says thank you for all the support, thoughts, prayers, and donations. She is very touched by everyone’s kindness and love.

Her family is also very grateful for the support during this difficult time.

Thank you

Please help support Katie and her family as she fights to prolong her life with a terminal brain cancer (brain stem glioma) diagnosis. The 5 year survival rate is low at 20% to 30% and the quality life is poor. She is fully alert as her body starts to fail her.

Katie has been going through radiation treatment, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy and has been in and out of the hospital for the last year and a half. She has endured two cardiac arrests, G tube placement, tracheostomy and continues to fight to be here for her 6 year old son. She refuses to have her son go through the same loss she went through when she was 6 years old and lost her mother.

Please donate, share, pray and check back often as I’ll be updating. Donations will help with the mounting medical bills and child care expenses as Katie is a stay at home mom.

Thank you for your time and support
