At KMS Photography their number one goal is always to support and empower women, to show every woman that they are beautiful and strong through boudoir and pin up photography. Although that is only PART of their business, ie. family sessions, cosplay, weddings, themed children sessions, etc etc. And the other half of their business is an art studio and birthday venue. Her mom and her have been a part of downtown York, SC for going on 5 years now and have spent blood, sweat and tears to bring business and positivity to their community. They have even organized many womens events, Halloween events for children and painting a mural of Rosie the Riveter. 

 

However, for the past 4 years they have become the target of hatred and dislike of what they offer at the studio, by a business owner in downtown who says what we do is inappropriate. This started out as excluding their business from any involvement with events, to now trying to get the city to shut down their business, stating they are a sexually oriented business. In addition to many other incidents during the years, this person is now slandering and harassing Katie and Joanna, and have now obtained images that were posted ONLY in their private women only Facebook group, INCLUDING 2 images of our team members.. That is what has lead to the decision that they need legal aid. 

 

Katie has everything set up and ready to go with a female lawyer in Rock Hill, but with being a small business owner, and the state of the economy, she needs our help with costs. Her main concern has always been clients privacy and she goes even as far as scheduling sessions during closed hours, separating everything as much as she can from the general public. She is helping women celebrate their bodies and stories, and giving them a self esteem boost. And lately she, and her clients, have been made to feel ashamed for doing so! Also, ironically, this is happening during Women's History Month!

 

To add to all of this Katie is now pregnant and this stress is not good for her or the baby.  She and her Mom are afraid of this business owner/bully as are other business owners in downtown. Unfortunately, they are the only ones willing to stand up against this person, and try to represent all those business owners who have been intimidated by this person. 

 

Please help in any way you can, all money raised will go to the lawyer to fight this good fight, and help protect her clients. The attorney fees are $2500.
