This is a picture of my daughter’s room at her mom’s house I took this morning. My ex wife and my kids were out of town last night when the devastating flash floods ripped through NW Reno, and her house being at the bottom of a hill, was the first victim in a literal wall of water that came rushing down.

For anyone who knows Katie, she is one of the most selfless and giving people you could meet. That being said, there has never been a single insurance agent of the 3 we've had over the years who explained that this house would not be covered in the event of a natural flood. Allstate informed her this morning that they will be covering exactly 0% of the costs associated with this event.

I know that Katie would never ask for help or assistance in a case like this, but would be the first one to give assistance to anyone she knew in this circumstance. So, I am asking on her behalf. Being a certified water restorer myself, I estimate her loss is going to cost about $40,000, once her furnace, water heater, washer dryer, water restoration, drywall, and all my daughter’s belongings are replaced. The water restoration alone will be a large chunk.
