Hi,

My name is Katie and I am 14 years old and fundraising for a softball trip to Europe. I will not only be competing with and against some of the best softball competition in Europe, but learning about the different cultures in the Netherlands and in France. This softball tournament is called "The Cup" and is considered to be one of the most prestigious international indoor fastpitch events in the world (here is a link to their website https://thecup1.com/).

This tournament has been going on for 25 years with teams from Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Belgium, England, Ireland, France, The Netherlands, Italy, The Czech Republic, Canada and the United States. These teams consist of elite athletes from the ages of 13 to early 20’s with the average age being 16/17. Professional athletes also help out with this event such as Eva Voortman, the pitcher for the Dutch National team. She is considered to be one of the top 5 pitchers and hitters in the world!

This is an amazing opportunity to play softball with people around the world and a great way to experience a different culture which is also why it’s expensive. I am grateful for any amount that you are able to donate.

A little more about me and why you help fund my trip:

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a great way to experience new culture. I have worked hard not only in softball, but in school too which is why I believe I deserve to go on this trip. For example, I had straight A’s throughout middle school while taking honors band and geometry (typically a 10th grade standard class) in 8th grade. This summer I also worked as an Leader in Training for a summer camp. Of course, I am also willing to fund raise besides this gofundme. For example, I am offering to babysit my cousins in the evenings. I also made money by watching a neighbor's dog while they went on vacation.
