My name is Katie and for roughly 8 months, I have struggled with severe stomach pain. It has gotten so bad that I scheduled a visit with my doctor to seek out what was wrong with me. Two doctor's appointments later and I still do not have answers. I have given blood 4 times in the last week, seen a specialist, gotten an ultrasound done, undergone further testing and have an upcoming CT Scan scheduled for next week.
The catch... I have to pay out of pocket until my deductible is reached at $6,350. The ultrasound was $600 and the CT Scan will be $1,359. After the CT Scan comes an endoscopy and a colonoscopy and I am not looking forward to finding out how much those will cost. The doctors think it could be anything from cancer/tumors in my intestines, Crohn's disease, Ulcerative Colitis, or even Pheochromocytoma. We won't know until I am finished with all the testing and procedures.
I graduated college in December and finally have a job using the degree I have worked so hard to get! With my kids being in a hybrid school setting, I am having to pay for extra daycare since they are not in school every day. On top of all this, I am having to take time off work for all the doctor's appointments so will not be receiving my full pay most weeks. I know times are hard but for my family, every penny will be a blessing. Every donation will help keep food on our table and heat in our home.
