Help Katie Pay Her Attorney Fees

Hi, my name is Katie.
In June of 2020, I made the decision to separate from my husband. Throughout our eight years of marriage, I endured many extremely difficult situations.
I left the state to stay with my mom in Alabama, where the majority of my family and support system were able to help me. I started two jobs in Alabama. Although the goal when I left was not divorce, I was left with no choice when my husband threatened to take the children back to North Dakota. At this time, we had agreed to enroll the boys in school in Alabama, where they were growing and thriving.
As the legal battle continued, I was left with no choice but to return to North Dakota for the remainder of legal proceedings. This meant leaving one of my jobs and a potential full time position, leaving my support system and family, and returning to a place where I have been completely isolated.
While I continue to search for a job here, the court has not yet ordered any form of child or spousal support. We have a place to stay, and most of the bills paid, but essentials such as groceries, gas, and clothing have taken precedence over legal fees.
I am humbly asking for help with these fees because at this point in time, I cannot do it alone. I want nothing but safety and freedom for myself and my children who deserve nothing less. The support would mean more to me than words can convey.
