Hi, my name is Amy, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help and support for my cousin, Katie.
Katie’s life has been turned upside down after a sudden and unexpected turn of events. Earlier this year, she went on a family vacation, hoping to make some lasting memories with her loved ones. But just as things were looking up, tragedy struck. Katie suffered an injury that led to immediate surgery, and her vacation was cut short before she even had a chance to fully enjoy it.
Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get worse, Katie received news that changed her life. After returning home, doctors discovered that Katie has a vestibular schwannoma, a rare, non-cancerous brain tumor that grows on the nerve connecting the inner ear to the brain. While it’s not cancerous, the tumor is still a serious medical condition that requires surgery—surgery that will take place in January.
The road ahead for Katie won’t be easy. The surgery, which will take place in Milwaukee, is going to be complicated, and the recovery will be long and difficult. There will be many days spent in the hospital, and after that, a long road of rest and rehab. On top of that, Katie and her family will have to travel back and forth for medical care, which comes with significant financial strain.
Katie is one of the kindest, most hardworking people I know, and seeing her go through this has been heartbreaking. But she’s not alone in this fight—we are all here for her, and I’m asking you to be part of her support team, too.
If you can, please consider donating to help cover the costs of Katie’s surgery, travel, and recovery. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this story with others or offering your thoughts and prayers means the world to us.
Katie has always shown incredible strength in the face of challenges, and we know that, with the love and support of all of you, she can make it through this difficult time.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity.
