My sister Katie Norman was diagnosed in early 2020 with a terminal cancer called GIST (gastrointestinal stromal tumor) this specific cancer has created tumors on her pancreas, liver, and digestive tract and other places inside her body. Katie has undergone 3 surgeries to remove the tumors the first surgery took place in Canada and her last two surgeries have been performed down in the United States. Unfortunately Katies cancer is a mutagen tumor that continues to come back and grow in different places inside her body. We as a family have spent the last five years trying to support Katie emotionally and financially through her journey to fight this Cancer. Katie is currently in a special trial treatment program in the United States that has been covering the cost of the surgeries. Our family has been contributing to several traveling expenses and accommodations. We are seeking the help from everyone and anyone that can afford to donate. We will be using all proceeds to pay for any and all travel expenses as well as using the funds to pay for any health care that Katie will need when she comes home. this week October 6TH 2025 Katie is going back to the United states for testing's and prep for the next surgery that is expected to happen early November 2025. Katie will be traveling to a local cancer institute in Maryland United States. The most recent surgery Katie had involved 2 separate surgeries consisting of approximately 18 removals of cancerous tumors and repairing her Liver. The surgeons removed just under %5 of the liver organ and tumors but she is experiencing complications with her Liver and it is not functioning properly. At this time her next major surgery now is to try and fix the liver . Everyday Katie fights through pains and emotional highs and lows but continues to keep pushing forward.
