Help Katie Learn to Fly

My name is Katie Baber. I am 16 years old and am a sophomore in high school. I am a hard worker and currently have a 4.0 GPA. When I have a goal I am driven to achieve it. In the past I have played many sports. Due to my passion for learning to fly, I have put most of my sports on hold to try to earn money to pay for flight lessons.
I have been part of American Huey 369, a non-profit, all volunteer organization, for about 8 years and intend to continue with it for the rest of my life. We preserve and spread the history of the Huey helicopter and its roll throughout the Vietnam War. While volunteering at the events, I have been given wonderful opportunities to learn and understand how the helicopter works. This has made me want this even more.
My goal is to raise $10,000 to obtain my private pilot's license, and is the first step to getting my commercial helicopter pilot's license. It costs between $350 to $450 an hour for helicopter rental and instructor fees. The reason I want my license before the military is so I can prove to myself and other young women, that if you have a passion you can do anything, regardless of how old you are.
With this license I would like to have a career flying Lifeline or other Air Medical jobs, and to be able to help American Huey 369 continue their mission. My intention after high school is to enlist in the Army to be a helicopter pilot. I am using a go fund me because I am too young to have a job which will make enough money to fund my goal and obtain it by the time I'm 17 and a half (I have to be 17 to be able to take the required tests, which is the final step towards becoming a certified pilot).
Any extra money will be donated to the American Huey 369 museum building fund.
