Help Katie Lay Doug to Rest and Support Her Family

My name is Risë, and my brother-in-law Doug Barnes passed away on 7/15/2025 after getting hit by an SUV in Moberly, MO. According to witnesses, the SUV pulled out in front of him, and while EMS tried, they weren't successful in getting his heart started. This man had fought through hell to make the best life for his wife and two kids. He may have left this world, but he wasn't prepared. Unfortunately, like many of us, he never thought this would happen. He didn't have life insurance. He was also the main income for his family. His wife works as much as possible, but they have a severely disabled child who is in the hospital more than he is out. She is now left to fight to stay afloat and figure out how to lay the love of her life to rest while also pushing forward in this world to try to survive, not only for herself but for their two children. I understand if you can't donate, but please at least share. Every time you share, there might be someone who sees this who can donate. I'm not asking the world from you; I'm just asking for you to look into your heart and help another human who needs it. They didn't deserve this, like so many others, but they are forced to go through this. Please, every penny, every share, every kind word helps. I don't have the funds myself, or I'd make it happen, but aren't we all just trying to make it to the next day? Aren't we all trying to make ends meet? Let's make it just a little easier for Katie and the kids. Let's do what we can to take some of the burden away since the devastating truth is, regardless of money, Katie's lost her lover, her best friend, her soulmate. We lost a brother, but she lost her world.

Because of everything that's happened, we do not have a service date yet, but as soon as we are able to do so, I will update. I put a date but it's not accurate, it just wouldn't let me proceed without one.
