Help Katie Keep Fighting the Fight with Cancer
Donation protected
A week before Christmas 2019, Katie who was only 28 years of age, finally took herself back to her GP and asked, are u sure it’s not bowl cancer? After 6 months of being extremely unwell and constant trips to the Dr, she was again turned away being told she is too young for bowl cancer…On Boxing Day after dropping her son off at the airport she went home and called the ambulance…eventually in A & E a Dr demanded a scan and a tumour bigger than her fist was found in her colon. Being told she had stage 3 colon cancer and needed surgery that night, was just the start of Katie’s fight with cancer. She had a hospital stay and 6 week recovery and then 8 rounds of chemo…but 3 months later the cancer had spread to her liver, this time it was a hospital stay and 10 week recovery and 12 rounds of chemo…after this a clear pet scan had Katie hoping this fight was finally coming to an end, but just a month after this, a trip to Melbourne hospital for a laparoscopy, has resulted in her having to go back to Melbourne on the 12th October for a hipec surgey where they will directly put chemo into the lining of her stomach to try and make sure the cancer is gone and she has a fighting chance…this time it will be a lengthy stay in hospital and a 3 to 6 month recovery.
Katie is one of the most positive, caring, selfless, beautiful people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting, and those that know her, know she is such a strong, brave and independent woman, who loves her son to the ends of the earth…they also know that she is a very proud woman that never asks anything of anyone. All through her illnesses she has worked, to support her boy, but this time is different, she will be out of action for a much longer time, and working is not going to be an option for her.
This page is to help my beautiful friend Katie keep fighting this fight with cancer, to help take one less stressful burden from her as she goes through this next stage…it started 2 years ago, and is far from over for her and her boy. Please help by donating whatever u can to this go fund me page, please share it. ❤️
