My name is Katie, and I’m reaching out because I’ve found myself in a situation I never expected. Not long ago, I was bitten by a dog, which set off a chain of events that turned my life upside down. The injury forced me to leave my job, and the cost of medical supplies to keep the bite from becoming severely infected quickly drained all the savings I had. On top of that, I lost the place I was staying, which was where the dog bite happened.

With nowhere to go and no income, things got even harder. I lost my car insurance due to insufficient funds, and because I couldn’t receive my mail in time, my insurance company reported a lapse, which led to my car registration being suspended. Now, I can’t afford the fine to get my suspension removed. Without a legal vehicle, I can’t get to job interviews, work, or even my medical appointments. If I risk driving, I could lose my car for good, and then I’d have no way to get back on my feet. I don’t have anyone I can rely on for rides, and it’s been incredibly hard to ask for help.
