My name is Matthew, and I’m writing on behalf of my wife, Katie. For almost 5 years she has been my wife, and for 9 years she has been my partner in life. She is one of the strongest and most genuine people I know. She brings warmth, honesty, and steady love into every part of our lives. Most importantly, she is an incredible mom to our sweet and energetic 2-year-old son, Sullivan.
Recently, our world shifted when Katie was diagnosed with breast cancer; Stage 1A triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. We are still early in this process, and many decisions about treatment are still being made. We know she will be having a double mastectomy, and chemotherapy is still likely, but some details remain uncertain. Even with these unknowns, we remain hopeful and grateful for a great prognosis, and we know the road ahead will be long.
Our priority is making sure Katie can focus on healing and on being present with Sullivan without the added stress of financial pressure during this new chapter in our lives.
Why We Are Asking for Help:
Cancer touches every part of life, not only health. There are medical bills, deductibles, co-pays, childcare during appointments, transportation costs, and everyday household expenses that continue as life moves forward. Katie will need to step away from work or reduce her hours during surgery and recovery. This fundraiser will help us stay steady and supported through the months ahead.
How You Can Support
Donating, if you are able, truly helps lighten the burden.
Sharing the link with others helps broaden our support.
Sending love, encouragement, prayers, or kind messages means more to us than we can explain.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting Katie as we navigate this new chapter. Your kindness gives our family strength and hope as we prepare for what comes next.
With gratitude,
Matthew Morrissey
