Hi, my name is Katie Watson, and I am at the very end of my PhD in Psychology, Public Policy, and Law.
I have completed all of my required coursework, and I am currently in the final week of what was supposed to be my last semester. The only remaining requirement to earn my doctorate is finishing my dissertation. Due to unforeseen life circumstances, I need to extend my enrollment by one additional semester in order to complete this final step.
Unfortunately, this extra semester is not fully covered by student loans, and I am required to pay for the tuition upfront to remain enrolled and continue working on my dissertation. After coming this far, the possibility of not being able to finish my degree because of funding is devastating.
The last couple of years have been a true roller coaster, and I am deeply grateful for the love, encouragement, and support my family and friends have given me throughout this journey. Completing this doctorate means more than a degree—it represents years of perseverance, sacrifice, and a lifelong dream.
Asking for help is not easy for me, but I am choosing to put myself out there and ask if anyone is able to help me cross this final hurdle. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to me. Even sharing this page is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me make it possible to finish what I’ve worked so hard to achieve.
With sincere gratitude,
Katie
