Help Katie & Cole's IVF Journey Begin

Hi!

We’re Katie and Cole, and we are asking for any support on our IVF journey. We are starting IVF at the end of January 2025 and need to put down a deposit at our calendar visit for the amount not covered by insurance. Our insurance covers 3 rounds of IVF, but we will still end up with out-of-pocket costs.

Here is a little history of our journey to become parents. In March of 2019, after 6 years of being together, we decided to start trying to build our family. After 6 months of trying, we went to our doctor and started fertility testing. We discovered Katie had a cyst in her fallopian tube, and she had a salpingectomy to remove the cyst and the damaged tube. We started medicated cycles in May of 2020 and transitioned to Sanford Reproductive in October 2020. In December 2020, we discovered Katie had an endometrial polyp and needed a hysteroscopy. In January 2021, we finally received more concrete answers when Katie was diagnosed with PCOS. We started medicated cycles in May 2021, with Katie becoming pregnant in July 2021. Unfortunately, Katie miscarried at 7 weeks and needed a D&C surgery to help protect her ability to have children. We took a break to process our grief and resumed medicated cycles in May 2022. In January 2023, we did our first IUI and did 4 between January 2023 and May 2023. We had a conversation with our care team about our chances of success continuing down the same path or if it was worth considering IVF. At the time, we didn’t think IVF was a possibility and took a break. In that time, we applied for grants, but unfortunately, we were not selected.

We thankfully have coverage now through Cole transitioning to a new job. That being said, the deposit is still a large amount of money to put down at a time. We are incredibly hopeful after 5 years of trying.
