Hi, my name is Katie Duggan and I’m a romance author! I’ve published two romantic comedies, From the Start and Back to Me, and my third, On My Side, will be published July 29, 2025.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to be an author. Books were a safe place for this undiagnosed neurodivergent kid, and writing stories and characters became an extension of that.

In my books, I have the incredible privilege of telling stories about queer, fat, and disabled characters falling in love. I’ve heard from dozens of readers about how the stories I’ve written have helped them accept and love parts of themselves they haven’t before, which is probably the coolest compliment in the world. I want to put more love into the world, and I feel like the luckiest human that the way I get to do that is through romance books.

This is where it gets tricky. I’ve come upon several opportunities to attend events in the near future that would help me get my books out to a wider audience. For one event alone, I need at least $2000 (books to sell, travel, lodging, food, swag, etc.). While I work hard marketing my books, I’m not at a point in my career where I make more than $200 a month with my writing. Attending events and creating preorder campaigns for my next releases will help me further my career and find more readers.

I will use the money raise for a website, artwork for conventions and preorders, travel, lodging, and any other author expenses that may come up. AND, if you donate, your name will be added to my document for possible side character names (I won’t name a villain after you, I promise!)
