Hello to my community of friends and family,

As most of you know and remember in September of 2021 I was in a bike accident and fractured my right hip. Back then many of you came through in supporting me and I have forever been grateful to you all. I am finding myself again in a position where I need to ask for help.

My original surgery went great and the fracture itself has healed perfectly. What is not so great is, when the fracture happened at the femoral neck, the blood supply to the femoral head was compromised. At the time this was unknown, and although this is a known possible complication, it is also something that could not be looked for at the time, as the cardiovascular system around the femoral head is like a complex web with many blood vessels. Enough of mine were damaged that over time the lack of blood caused the bone tissue of the femoral head to die (avascular necrosis) and collapse on itself. It was also something we just kind of had to wait for to show up on x-rays, even though I could physically feel was going on inside, as daily motions have become difficult and painful to do. It is time to remove the dead bone and replace it with an implanted prosthetic hip.

Even though this time I have insurance and have been approved for Medical Financial Aid through Kaiser, and will be applying for disability, at this time I am not sure how much that will all cover. I also will be out of work through the end of the year, and will still have to pay rent, car payments, etc. Many of you know I am also moving around the New Year to begin nursing school. So with all of that I have opened up this GoFundMe to help supplement any lost income during this time and to ease the cost of moving expenses when that time comes.

I can't say thank you enough to anyone who has donated to my original GoFundMe, who participated in the cocktail happy hour my work ran for a month to raise funds for me, who sent me meals during recovery and who have just been around in general since my accident. I was humbled by the experience and hate to ask for this kind of help again. But here I am asking you all to donate what you can and/or share this GoFundMe throughout your social media platforms.
