Hi, we're Katie and Leah, two best friends to embark on a life-changing journey around the globe. But we're not just traveling; we're creating a business consisting of a weekly newsletter and YouTube channel called “Katie & Leah” to document what we learn about culture, farming and homesteading. We’ll be volunteering on farms and homesteads across Oceania, Asia and Europe. Our vision is to inspire others to pursue their dream lives, while promoting sustainability and making meaningful connections along the way.

Our journey is driven by a deeper mission to heal our earth and address the growing health crises linked to environmental degradation and lack of authentic connection. We believe that embracing sustainable and organic practices can reverse this trend. The widespread use of glyphosates has not only weakened plants and stripped them of major nutrients but has also led to significant contamination; in the southern United States, 75% of the air and rain contain glyphosates. This disconnection from natural, sustainable practices has contributed to numerous health issues, including autoimmune diseases, inflammation, obesity, type 2 diabetes, and autism. The rise in environmental degradation has paralleled an increase in mental health issues. Studies show that depression and loneliness are at an all-time high, exacerbated by our disconnection from nature. In 1945, Americans grew 45% of their food in their backyard gardens. Today, we grow just 0.1%. By reconnecting with nature, ourselves, and one another, we can cultivate a healthier, more fulfilling life for ourselves and future generations.

Why We Need Your Help:

Embarking on this global adventure requires some initial capital for equipment, travel essentials, and to get us on our feet while we grow our channel into a self-sustaining enterprise. We’re reaching out to you – our family, friends, and potential fans – to help us make this happen.

-We'll be documenting our travels through YouTube videos discussing our experiences, and special features on local farms, hosts, and cultures.

-SubStack weekly newsletter paid subscription

-Sponsored posts and collaborations with brands we actually endorse

-(Potentially) fan support through Patreon for exclusive content.

Right now we’re just trying to just raise start-up costs. We’ve got a little money saved, and we’re working at Katie’s parents’ farm all summer, but we’re seeking more support.
