Help Kathy Restore Her Stolen Car
Donation protected
Hi,
Many of you know my story from my posts.
I am a substitute teacher in Sante Fe, NM mostly with special needs children. I am also in recovery from alcohol addiction (I went to SF Recovery) and have almost a year free of alcohol. I have been rebuilding my life and trying to be of service teaching kids. I saved up for a year to buy my car, a 2010 Subaru Forester, and last Sunday it was stolen.
I only have liability insurance since the car is older and I can't afford the monthly payments of full coverage. My car was found (HOORAY!) but there are damages and multiple costs to get it running again that I can't afford. Not including all the belongings, inside it that are gone. I am estimating at this point but need to pay immediately to get it out from the tow yard so the cost doesn't go up.
*Towing cost: $475
*Broken front window replacement estimate: $300
*Broken back window replacement estimate: $500
*Key replacement and programming $200
*Detailing for broken glass and drug clean up estimate $200
*New license plate and registration estimate $20
All this is an estimation (except towing). Because the thief still has the key, it may cost more. I may need to replace the ignition and door lock so they can't steal it back. I am looking into that now.
Thank you SO much for any help you can give.
(Prayers and kind words are also welcome)
I have gotten TONS of love and support from friends but ALSO from complete strangers in Santa Fe who have heard my story posted.
It softened a horrible, frustrating, violating experience and made it bearable.
Much love and light
