Kathy is a sweet friend with a truly generous heart. Joan is organizing this fundraiser to help Kathy recover after she lost a substantial amount of money in a scam. When Kathy received a text message that appeared to be from her priest, she did what she has always done for others without hesitation and tried to help. Sadly, the message was not really from her priest, and Kathy ended up losing funds she could not afford to lose. This has created a heavy financial burden for someone who is always the first to step in when others need support.

Anyone who knows Kathy knows how much she gives of herself every day. Even with back and knee pain and while using a walker, Kathy remains one of the most active members of the Grimes County St. Vincent de Paul Society. She transports groceries with her walker from the food pantry to her car and then from her car to people in need. She is also active in her church, the Lions Club, and the Red Cross. Kathy is known for baking homemade treats for fundraisers, youth groups, and birthdays. She helps support her son and his wife as well as a friend who had nowhere else to go.
