Hi, I'm Kathy Bowden and I'm on a journey to help my best friend - Kathy Jo M. - kick Stage 3C Colon Cancer to the curb.

We only learned a few weeks ago that Kathy Jo has cancer. She recently underwent surgery to remove a section of her colon plus lymph nodes. Colon cancer isn't staged until they get it out... we had hoped it was Stage 1 or 2 and that this scary episode would be over. But, no, it was not to be... 

Yesterday, Kathy Jo called me to let me know the pathology results were in, and it was not great news... multiple lymph nodes also had cancer. We talked, we cried, we prayed... and now we are moving on to the next steps.

The oncologist explained that Kathy Jo needs a 4-6 month long course of intensive chemotherapy to ensure the cancer is gone. Our plan is to support her chemo with nutrition and exercise and prayer.

Due to Covid-19, Kathy Jo has been unemployed (she was an amazing caregiver in a disabled adults day facility that was closed). Kathy Jo's wonderful, supportive husband, Mark, has also suffered setbacks in this economy. Months of treatment are going to be hard on them - physically, emotionally, and financially.

Would you please consider helping, even a little, towards my fund for Kathy Jo's expenses? I am her cancer doula, and I promise you the funds will be used for medical and living expenses related to her treatment.
