My name is Kathy, and I’ve always tried to be as independent as possible. I’m on a fixed income and recently found myself in a tough spot—I need a new engine for my 1979 Chevy Malibu Classic Landau. There’s no public transportation where I live, and I moved far from friends and family, so having a working car is my only way to get around.
Without my car, I can’t get groceries, go to doctor appointments, or take care of daily needs. What hurts most is the thought of not being able to visit my dad in Seattle next summer. He’s 80 years old, and I worry I might not get to see him again if I can’t make the trip. My dog is my companion, and since he can’t travel by plane or other means, driving is the only way for us to go together.
I never thought I’d be in a position to ask for help, but I’ve run out of options. I’m at my wits’ end and feeling trapped. Any support you can give would mean the world to me and help me get back on the road to see my dad and take care of myself and my dog.
