Help Kathy Fight for Her Future

Some people spend their lives giving—never asking for anything in return. Kathy is one of those people.

She has taken in neighbors’ children after tragedy struck. She has spent summers mowing a widowed senior’s lawn, climbed onto roofs to help elderly neighbors after storms, and given her last $5 to someone who needed food. She has always put others first, not because she expected anything in return, but because it was the right thing to do.

But now, Kathy is in a fight for her future—and she needs our help.

A few months ago, her husband abandoned her after almost 10 years of being together. There has been a lot of communication difficulties since, which included him calling her names, tearing her down, and now, serving her divorce papers to take everything. Everything including the home for which she used her life savings on for the down payment. After years, with the majority of her time being a stay-at-home mom for both his and her children, she was left scrambling to find work and is now surviving on an income below the poverty line. Her only car keeps breaking down, is currently out of order and needs immediate work, AND her kids get to see the stepchildren at school, which has manipulated them emotionally – heavily so on occasion.

On top of all this, Kathy’s health has been neglected. She has some serious medical concerns, including monitoring for the return of ovarian cancer, something she has had to push aside just to survive. She also desperately wants to get therapy for herself and her children, so they can properly process and heal from this life-altering situation. But everything costs money.

She has no biological parents/elders left, and the foster father who walked her down the aisle at the wedding passed away in 2022. Her support system is thin, and while she is strong, independent, and determined, she is at risk of losing everything.

Right now, Kathy urgently needs financial support to:

• Secure a lawyer to fight for what is already hers

• Cover medical care to monitor for the return of cancer

• Get therapy for herself and her kids

• Keep her car running so she can get to work and provide for her family
