Two months ago, our beloved mother and grandmother, Kathy Cassidy, underwent surgery and was beginning the long road of recovery. Unfortunately, our family’s world was turned upside down. A sudden blood clot formed and traveled to her lungs, causing a life-threatening pulmonary embolism. Little did we know, there were many clots and could possibly be even more.

Kathy was rushed into emergency surgery. She is now in the ICU, intubated, and in an induced coma, as her body fights to heal from this devastating complication.

Kathy is the heart of our family. She is a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a friend to so many. Her laughter fills a room, and her kindness touches everyone she meets. To see her fighting for her life so suddenly has left us shaken, but we are clinging to hope and faith that she will pull through.

Unfortunately, the medical costs are already overwhelming. ICU stays, emergency surgery, round-the-clock care, and the long rehabilitation ahead are expenses no family can prepare for. On top of this, Kathy will be unable to work, and her daughter is balancing care for her own family while being at her mother’s side.
