Help Kathy Conquer Cancer

This is Kathy. Kathy is 37 years old and she has breast cancer. Kathy is a unit clerk at Trillium Hospital who has recently gone back to school for Nursing. She's a loving wife and a mother of two young children, and an all around beautiful person both inside and out.


Earlier this year, Kathy found a lump in her breast. When she realized that the lump was not going away on its own, she had it checked. After several grueling tests, she soon found out it was the dreaded big 'C'. Kathy spent weeks trying to retain and process what seemed like endless amounts of information, while struggling with feelings of sadness, anger, and disbelief. 

Kathy's treatment plan is 18 weeks of chemotherapy, which has commenced, followed by surgical intervention. Unfortunately, only some of her medications are covered by OHIP and a portion will be relieved by the Trillium Drug Plan IF she qualifies. The rest she will have to pay for on her own without extended health benefits.
