My name is kathy, and I’m reaching out for help during the hardest time of my life. After caring for my mother through her battle with ALS, I returned home only to face my own health crises. I suffered multiple concussions at work, was hospitalized for septic shock and spent weeks in a coma. When I woke up, I had to learn how to walk and feed myself all over again. On top of that, I broke my left ankle and now struggle with memory loss. Both of my parents are gone, and I have no family support or income. My support dog is my only companion, and losing them would break what’s left of my heart.
Right now, I am terrified of becoming homeless. My rent is $1,600 a month, and I simply don’t have the means to pay it while I continue therapy and work toward recovery. My support dog is not just a pet, but a lifeline—helping me cope with the emotional and physical challenges I face every day. Without help, I risk losing my home and the only friend I have left. I’ve never been in this situation before, and asking for help is incredibly difficult, but I have nowhere else to turn.
Anything you can give will help me keep a roof over my head and stay with my support dog as I fight to regain my health and independence. I am scared, but I am grateful for any hope and support you can offer. Thank you for reading my story and for considering a donation—your kindness means more than I can express.
