My name is Kathy Williams. In April of this year, I was in the hospital living in California. The doctors told me I had Chronic Congestive Heart Failure and possibly breast cancer. The hospital told my daughter, Katelynn, who lives in Oregon, that my heart is only at 20% and she needed to come down and spend as much time as I had left. She drives down without hesitation the next day and she moves her father and I in with her and her family! This was the beginning of the financial crisis. With my daughter working, she had to take time off work to get her father and me adjusted, and lots of appointments later, we have our diagnosis of Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. The bone scan done 4 weeks ago showed the cancer is in my bones. There is nothing more we can do other than take hormone blockers to slow down the cancer to give me my best chance at a longer life to be with my daughter and grandchildren. I feel so bad that my daughter and her family have been put in a financial situation due to having me and her father move in with her. We are working with a social worker at St. Vincent’s here in Oregon to help me establish SSI/SSDI, but until then, we need just a little help whether it be for food or to help pay rent. Thank you for your time reading this and please share if you can’t donate. Thank you and God bless you.
