My name is Kathleen, and I am reaching out for help during a very difficult time. I have Ehlers Danlos, a condition that affects all the connective tissue in my body. It causes faulty collagen to be produced, which means my joints are hypermobile and anything that requires muscles, tendons, and ligaments to remain in place is loose. Over the years, I've experienced multiple joint dislocations, skin and venous issues, and now, my teeth are falling out. This has made daily life incredibly challenging. I can't chew well, and I often get painful abscesses. Beyond the physical pain, I feel embarrassed to speak, smile, laugh, or eat in front of anyone except my family. When I do eat with others, I find myself covering my mouth with my hand, just to hide my teeth.

Things became even harder after my husband passed away. My income was cut in half, and now I have no cushion for emergencies or medical needs. Recently, my fridge died, and I couldn't afford to replace it—not even with a used one. Every day feels like a struggle, and the thought of getting the dental treatment I need seems out of reach.
