Help Support Kathleen and Her Family Through Her Fight With Cancer

On June 11th, Kathleen was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer. She is now in the early stages of treatment and while the road ahead is physically and emotionally overwhelming and scary, she is facing it with incredible strength and a fighting spirit!

As treatment continues, the family is navigating a difficult and uncertain journey. They have already been deeply touched by the outpouring of love, including meals, cards, flowers, prayers, and heartfelt messages, and they are so grateful for every bit of support.

Kathleen and her husband Frank are dedicated and loving parents to Laina, Joseph, and Brooke. Kathleen, a passionate and well-respected teacher, had to step away from her classroom during the last few months of this school year, as she faced a whirlwind of doctor’s appointments, medical tests, and ultimately, a life changing diagnosis. Frank has been on leave to serve as her primary caregiver, bringing her to all medical appointments and treatments, while also managing the children’s needs and handling day to day responsibilities at home. As paid leave for both of them will run its course, they will be faced with even greater financial uncertainty and the very real possibility of having to go without income.

With three children and the responsibilities that come with them; including school, activities, and daily life, as well as medical costs, mortgage, and bills, the financial strain is growing heavier by the day.
