Kathi is a dear friend whom I met over 20 years ago. From the beginning, we formed a friendship that has lasted through the years. Kathi is an elderly woman who lives alone and has always done her best to stay independent, but life has thrown her some tough challenges. Over the years, I’ve seen her struggle to make ends meet, and I’ve tried to help where I can, but her situation has become more dire than ever.

With the cold of winter upon us and recent health scares, Kathi’s needs have grown urgent. Kathi's financial hardship really stems from a rare medical condition and has mounting hospital bills that she just can't afford. On top of that, her home is in need of critical repairs—especially the roof, which is deteriorating and putting her safety at risk. Because of her health and limited income, she simply can’t do the work herself or afford to hire professionals.
