On October 24, my sister, Katherine Dees, received the life shattering diagnosis of stage four triple negative metastatic breast cancer. After having beaten breast cancer about 15 years ago, this was a tough pill to swallow. The news was compounded by the fact her cancer does not have characteristics typical of this type of cancer. In addition to the physical, mental, and emotional pain and stress ravaging her body, the financial strain is catastrophic. Her three-month treatment is 90K.
