Shortly after celebrating her youngest granddaughter’s 2 year cancer free from leukemia milestone in November of this year, Katherine began experiencing persistent abdominal pain, which eventually intensified to the point of seeking emergency care. During this time, a CT scan was performed, which revealed a large mass in her colon with prominent lymph nodes in the affected area, concerning for metastatic disease.
She underwent surgery to resect this mass in mid-December, and it was discovered that the mass had ruptured, significantly increasing the risk of metastatic disease. She was diagnosed with Stage II colon cancer and will soon begin chemotherapy treatments.
Katherine is unable to work at this time due to the suffering inflicted by this horrible disease and the intensive treatments it requires.
We are earnestly asking for prayers and support for Katherine. We cling to the hope and faith that she will conquer this cancer and achieve remission.
