Hi, My name is Ella. Please help me financially assist my friend Kateryna and her two kids (Sofia, ten years old and Michael, eight years old) to escape occupied territory in Ukraine. Unfortunately, Kateryna postponed her move from Kyiv until the conditions became unbearable. "I was scared to leave with two kids. We could hear the shooting right outside the building. Staying inside our apartment felt safest until an unexpected situation arose; relentless missiles striking. With no time to pack, we had to run to the Western side of the country and try to cross the border." Currently, she is staying with her friend in the western region but hasn't crossed the border yet. Soon the safety of this area of Ukraine will also become compromised.

 

I was able to find a kind German family who has agreed to provide a safe place for Kateryna, Sofia, and Michael to stay where they will have time to recover and gather their thoughts on what to do next. However, the journey to where they will stay in Germany will require some financial support. We are not sure how fast they can get help from the government due to the Ukrainian Refugee Crisis.

Kateryna and her kids were able to cross the border! Her husband got legally qualified to join them.  Currently they are staying at a motel for $50 per night in Kraków. Your donations helped this family to avoid staying at the refugee camps by the border and to get food independently.  Thank you!
