Help Katelyn get the extensive therapy she needs to regain full function of her arm and recover.

This is the story of Katelyn Hereford, a 21-year-old hardworking country girl who was working on getting her welding career and at the same time helping her dad on the farm on weekends.

Two weeks ago, she was helping her dad on a Saturday, fencing. They were using a tractor with a post hole digger (auger) on the back of the tractor to dig post holes for a fence. Her jacket got caught in it, and it snatched her into the auger, twisting her around it three times before the machine could be shut down. Her dad rushed off the tractor to find her twisted up in it with her arm wrapped all the way around it, so he took his pocket knife out and started cutting her jacket off to free her from it. He found that her arm was ripped almost completely off, with blood going everywhere as the main artery had been severed. As they waited for MedFlight to come for her, which could not find a landing, they had to take her by ambulance, an hour drive to the hospital.

After arriving at the hospital, with a four-hour surgery, they were able to save the arm, but she had to have two surgeries and was in TSICU for five days. Besides the arm that was ripped almost off, she has a broken shoulder blade, a broken collarbone, and fractured ribs with multiple body bruises. She has insurance with a ten thousand dollar deductible, but it is not covering all of the medical bills. And she will have a long road of therapy on the arm that will not be covered by insurance at all, so as friends of the family, we would like to set this up to help them. Hoping to give her a decent chance at being able to have 100% use of her arm.
