Help Katelyn Fight Multiple Chronic Illnesses &Medical Costs

Hi, my name is Kenzy, and i'm creating this fundraiser for my best friend, Katelyn. This year has brought unexpected medical challenges that have taken a toll, both physically and financially. In honor of Katelyn’s birthday, I wanted to show support by helping her regain some stability and ease her financial burden so she can focus on her health. My hope is that, through the kindness of others, we can lift some of the weight she’s carrying and give her back a bit of the future she’s been working so hard toward.

Katelyn is only 23 years old and has been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, psoriasis, Raynaud’s disease, and now Takayasu arteritis, a rare and life-threatening condition affecting her arteries. This is a one in a million disease. Despite all of these challenges, she has always faced life with an incredible amount of strength and optimism.

Recently, Katelyn started chemotherapy to treat Takayasu, which has forced her to take at least two months off work from her job as a nurse. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have short-term disability, so she’s without a source of income during this time.

On top of her battle with these chronic illnesses, Katelyn had to undergo an urgent egg harvesting procedure due to the effects of chemotherapy on fertility. This procedure, which is not covered by insurance, cost $12,000, adding an immense financial burden to an already overwhelming situation.

Despite having some savings, those funds have been drained very quickly due to her current circumstances. Katelyn had been diligently saving to buy a home soon, and this money was intended to help her achieve that goal. Now, with her unable to work and facing a reduced schedule once she returns due to her six-month chemotherapy treatment, it will take her a long time to rebuild her savings. She’s been faced with medical bills totaling over $14,000 in the past month alone, leaving her in a difficult position as she tries to focus on her health. Katelyn has worked incredibly hard to reach her savings goals, and it’s heartbreaking to see all her efforts disappear in such a short time. As someone who has always dedicated herself to helping others as a nurse, she now needs our help.

We’re raising money to help cover the costs of her egg harvesting procedure, ongoing medical treatments, and rent and living expenses for the next few months.

Any amount you can give will make a huge difference and take some of the burden off Katelyn so she can focus on her health and healing.
