Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my daughter, Katelyn, who is bravely fighting through a number of serious and complex medical conditions. She has been diagnosed with heart failure, POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), a rare genetic disorder that weakens her heart (she is 1 of 2 people to have it), and several other chronic illnesses that deeply affect her daily life.

Katelyn is currently being treated by specialists at both the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and University of Minnesota  Her care team is closely monitoring her heart condition, and we are currently waiting to find out when she will need a pacemaker. In addition, doctors are planning to place a port in the near future to replace her current PICC line, which is needed for ongoing treatments.

These conditions cause not only constant physical pain and exhaustion, but also take a tremendous mental and emotional toll. Despite everything, Katelyn continues to show incredible strength and courage.

Because of her health, she has not been able to work, The financial strain of continuous hospital visits, medical procedures, medications, travel, and basic daily needs has become overwhelming. We’re asking for support—any amount helps—to ease the heavy burden she carries so she can focus on her health and healing.

    •    Medical bills and procedures

    •    Travel to and from Mayo and the U of M

    •    Daily living expenses and personal care

    •    Uncovered medications and supplies

    •    Placement of a port and future cardiac care, including a possible pacemaker
