My name is Kate, I'm currently unemployed. For years, my computer has been my portal to the outside world. It's how I met my friends and it's the way we communicate with each other. Through playing tabletop games and video games, I'm able to spend time with my friends in ways that aren't feasible in reality.

My computer is currently eleven years old. I've been able to replace some of the parts in the past, but judging by its performance and the noises it makes sometimes, it's probably close to the end of its life. I can't afford a new one. When this thing goes, a lot of my activities and my primary way of talking to friends is gone.

I have my eye on what might be a suitable replacement. One that can run the games and programs I need and hopefully last me several more years.

Being able to spend time with my friends (all of whom live in other states or countries) does a lot for my mental and physical health. I'd like to keep that up as long as I can.
