We are raising funds to purchase an AED for Kate, a Petaluma native and teacher at Casa Grande High School. Kate is a compassionate, dedicated, and wildly bright teacher. We want to help take care of her with the same love and devotion that we see her use with her students.

Kate has Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia. It is a random and rare heart condition that causes episodes that increase her heart rate to dangerously high levels. Her longest run has been 11 seconds, but between 20-30 seconds it is terminal. In the event of a 20-30 second episode, defibrillation can save her life. So, if she has an AED readily available, it will save her life.

The price of the AED we would like to purchase for Kate is $1000. However, with her increase in her doctor's appointments that take place during the work day, we would like to give her all additional funds raised to help with the financial burden of taking days off that exceed her PTO.
