Help Kate Conquer Cancer
Donation protected
As some of you may know, my sister, Kate Wojcik (formerly Hood), was recently diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and is undergoing chemotherapy treatments at Roswell Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY.
Kate is a thirty-three-year-old teacher and anyone who knows Kate knows she truly is one of the kindest people, who would bend over backward for a stranger. Writing “her story” seems completely surreal, but I’ll do my best:
How did this happen?
Right before New Year’s, while Kate was fully vaccinated, she caught covid-19. A few weeks later, she felt a lump on her neck that concerned her. She was originally told that it was an enlarged lymph node and there was no need to worry…
Just to make sure – and thank goodness she did – Kate was insistent on getting it further checked out. After a biopsy on her neck, she was diagnosed with stage 4 large B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, the same type of cancer my late mom had.
Like all cancer diagnoses, this was a complete shock, especially since it is stage 4 and had spread to her L3 vertebrae bone. Kate was abruptly taken out of work to undergo treatment.
Every Donation Helps
I created this GoFundMe for my sister to help with her medical expenses and unexpected costs. Asking for help is never easy and none of us want to do it, so I’m doing it for her. I truly believe the last thing anyone needs to stress over during this time is money. There have already been significant bills leading up to this diagnosis and she started chemotherapy a few weeks ago, which will only lead to more and more bills piling up.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. All donations are beyond appreciated and will be used to help offset these unexpected costs.
We all love Kate and know she’s got this!! Let’s support her as best we can. ❤️ Thanks again
